This is constructed in the Doric style with prostyle tetrastyle porticos and flanking colonnades, with catacombs beneath. There is space fro 4000 deposits and to date, 3000 have been used. The coffins were lowered from the chapel by a now restored hydraulic catafalque, which replaced a less reliable version which relied on a screw mechanism.
